My apologies everyone for not being in touch but I am still waiting for Epz to reinstate my private messaging. No idea how long now but hopefully soon.

hi folks, didn't actually get an 'invitation' as such and only noticed the group today...

those that do not already know me will find that my view is very similar to Richards' - the number of "oooh lovely" comments on questionable images is akin to our local camera club, and this idea for those of us that hope we know a little more i a great one that i hope to support 100% in whatever way i am required and able.

hi there,

a big part of my photography hobby is birding
and a big part of that... is knowing what bird your photographing Smile

a friend sent me this web site, just follow the links to the bird id training quiz (visual and sound! 6 levels of difficulty! and im not embarrassing myself revealing my level of 'expertise' hahaa)

i just thought it would be interesting for other birder/photographer types on here

At last my D800 is here. I never had a DSLR. Owned an F4 and an F90s. Things seem a lot easier now. Hope I will be posting some photos soon.
Take care

Would like to suggest that when uploading an image for critique, members use the "Before and After" V1,V2 option, with the original image, straight out of the camera, uploaded as V2(Before). That way other members wishing to critique the image can easily see what processing has been done and give their views and advice accordingly.

Recently found this site and then joined this group, I would love feedback on my photos. Hoping to learn lots from being on here.

Hi Richard, I would like to say a big thank-you for inviting me to this group, I am a novice and really this forum should help me to be more
successful at using the equipment I have got which is a Canon 7D with a Canon 100-400mm Lens and a Canon 100mm USM for macro shots.

Quote: Just a thought; would it not be a good idea if everyone allowed modifications? It's sometimes far easier to explain something if you can display your intended advice.

I've made mine modifiable. If any of the others want it doing I can turn yours on too.

Good to see this group started and I hope members encourage it's growth, and use it a s a regular place to build up enthusiasm for wildlife.

For those new to groups. Once you've joined you can set alerts for new activity.

You can post pictures on top of your daily allocation from the main gallery. These photos don't appear in the main gallery so you will need members of the group to comment on them. It's a good idea not to post too many at once so then everyone can focus on each picture uploaded rather than a flood.

You can create forum posts that appear in this group, but to encourage growth also appear in the main forum.

You can chat in this area that's like a message board and only appears in the group.

You can create events on the group calendar and link them in to members meetings

I hope that helps...enjoy and hopefully encourage others to join and enjoy Smile

Great idea Richard -looking forward to it Smile. Sylvia
