Red Deer Stag

By philhomer
Went to look for rutting stags but only found 3 Red Deer that seemed pretty content to not be involved - that is until one challenged me (at which point i suddenly remembered how big they are)

'Tech' for this one - Combi of reasonably big aperture (5.6) and focal length (600) makes for as neutral a foreground and background as possible, and also of course helps with reciprocity. Relatively high ISO (640) for daytime, and a smattering of negative exposure (-2/3) compensation to taste.

many thanks for the comments - better response than i had anticipated to be honest but wanted to show willing as not posted anything for weeks. David i am sure the recipient of your UA was more deserving.
