The X100T arrives Tuesday. Actually its ready for delivery on Monday but won't be in to collect so delayed till Tuesday and after charging the batteries, loading the nice fast card and covering the front element with a nice new protective filter I will be out. I know we should not get too hung up on equipment but its still exciting.

me too paul already have the xt1 got rid of all my nikon gear getting too heavy to carry getting great results from the xt1 cant wait to get the x100t,jeremy
Seems a bit quiet on the X series forum though.
Yes its the same with most of these groups, people forget that they are there
So I am returning to the Fuji fold and have pre-ordered a new X100T. In all I will have a very nice set up with the D7100 and the lens options and the X100 with its portability.
I`ve always had a soft spot for the x100 series, I`d get one tomorrow if I had the funds.
Some time ago I traded an X100 in for a new Nikon D7100 which is a brilliant camera but the form factor of the X100 was always a loss. So I am returning to the Fuji fold and have pre-ordered a new X100T. In all I will have a very nice set up with the D7100 and the lens options and the X100 with its portability.
Seems a bit quiet on the X series forum though.
Having browsed this group for quite a bit I have just placed an order for a used X10 from MPB. I already have an LX5 so if I like the X10 better I will sell the LX5.
Hi! I've been using my X100 a little over 9 months now, have previously owned an X10 and will hopefully own an XE-1! (when I can afford it.~) I've uploaded a few pictures to my portfolio here and I have a tumblr which is practically all X-series work!
Nice, starting to feel jealous now
only just picked up my x100s ,spent all evening getting the feel of it, it is everything i need for my street photography, going into London this weekend to start a new personal project , and once i have adjusted my mind set to this much smaller camera, i will start to arrange some walks around the lesser known parts of London that i know some great shots can be had,
I'm a new x100 user. I'll add a few of my photos from my portfolio when i get a chance.
Hi all, loving my new X20.
I've started uploading sample photos from the Fujifilm X20 here, which you can take a look at if you're really keen
I picked up the X10 just under a month ago in a great value package along with the leather case. The idea was that I could use the camera to take high quality photo's, with more control, when it was difficult or inconvenient to carry an SLR. So far the camera has fulfilled it's brief with distinction, even excelling at low light photography, with results that - at reasonable sizes - almost match my SLR. In addition the camera looks and feels great to use, reminding me of some of the great compacts of yesteryear.
Bought the X10 a couple of weeks ago, but only been out a couple of times with it due to illness over the New Year week. Impressed so far with the quality, now need to explore the various features and settings. Oh and get a suitable bag/pouch for it.
Hi Johnny, welcome to the group. Look forward to seeing some images.
Just picked one up today with the custom case etc. I'm charging the battery now and wading thru' the manual before giving it a test drive
A few more faces
I`ve not had a chance to play yet but I updated the firmware to the latest last night.
It adds a quick menu to the raw button, and a set of new advanced filters.
Hi all, just joined group today and uploaded first image, I've been shooting for some years now with different cameras had all the bells and whistles, but I must say the ease and versatility of the X10 is what I've been looking for, for sometime now, that much so I sold my dslr Canon 40d and lenses(so heavy) to carry round and besides I think you stick out more when your doing street photography which is mainly what I do now, not to say that you can't do street with an dslr I did and I still have an Canon Eos 30 and 50mm f1.8 lens and Yashica Rangfinder to shoot film if I feel a bit of nostalgia coming on, but for now I'm happy shooting with the X10.
cheers mick howe.
Hello everyone. I joined the group yesterday having just taking delivery of my new X10. I got a little time today to go out with it. Whilst I definitely still have a lot to learn I am very, very impressed so far. I wanted the camera so I could have a go-everywhere raw shooter and it looks like it will fit the bill nicely.
I hope to be able to post some examples of my work and I look forward to seeing more of your excellent contributions.
After reading every review I could find, and then handling a choice of cameras, I narrowed it down to Canon G1X or Fuji X10. The X10 won through as closest fit to my needs for something between pocket Lumix and full blown SLR kit. Just feels so right in my hands. Now waiting for it to stop raining so I can go play!
Welcome Greg, hope to see some shots soon. I don't think you will be dissapointed with the X10, my only dissapointment is that I couldn't wait until its price dropped before I bought so mine cost top dollar. No regrets though its a great little camera.
Just joined any news! Just bought x10 on your sight for approx 2/3weeks really helped me decide to buy camera? Will post photos shortly hopefully? First time involved in wking with group online please support
Activities a little slow at the mo, groups have there lulls, hang in there.
Shame but I think you are right. I have tried and posted images as I have progressed with mine. PLease reconsider, it would be good to see the X10 results from a challenging environment.
I was thinking of joining this group but activity seems to be nil, which is disappointing, and is there only Alison as the one female user!
I'm currently backpacking round India and learning and testing my new toy toy as I go, and the poor thing is getting some very rigorous usage under very difficult conditions.
Oh well, nothing going on, so I shall withdraw. Pity. :-(
Glad it helped Phil
seems to have sorted the prog override thanks Paul, funny how reading on screen seemed clearer than the paper book
Is this any help Phil, page 24 Program shift.
i havnt had loads of opportunity to test run mine yet but seem to have a couple of stumbling blocks.
i have tried the swear word (P mode) and the results are really good but i cant seem to work out how to override the aperature. book suggests i can but it dosnt seem to offer me the option. any ideas. is it to do with the choices of settings for dynamic range etc. what do you all use auto or 100%. ?
i had a problem i thought i had beat but its still bothering me.
if i select aperature priority and shoot a typical scene in flat light the result is great, but take some contrasty light and say a lake in the foreground backed by some trees and a sky. the results are well overexposed and the exposure compensation dial dosnt seem to make a difference. if i switch to P mode , the same scene comes out perfect. i havnt tried expanding the metering box in average yet, or i suppose selecting spot metering would maybe work better if the area being metered is average. its certainly not a problem i have with my dslr.
am i missing the point somewhere. is there something needs resetting.
Yes that`s a useful tip Phil.
I put a few here, before I discovered these I was for ever removing the lens cap and switching the camera on
i did some serious field tests with my new x10 last wednesday, everything was fine exept i was badly blowing highlights in contrasty conditions
seems that there are several options on metering which i hadnt noticed in the book and were not obvious on the body. i changed to spot or average as required and sorted my problem.
hope this helps anyone with the same problem
left hand side on the back (ae) button provides 3 options
Just received mine. Looking forward to seeing what it can do!
Couple of images added to the X10 users group photo gallery.
Hope you like.
Guys and Girls
Just got my new Fuji X10 for Christmas and I have to say after playing with it for and hour or so that I am very impressed with its functionality for such a small camera.
I will in due course add some images when I get time.
Happy Christmas fellow X10 owners
well, just read Ken Rockwells review of the x10
he reckons it,s one little jewel of a camera,,, his review is worth a look,,,,, John
i have the sb 400 flash. & considered using it, but another chap who tried it said, it would not fire
don't think i,d pay £150 for a flash to go with it!,,,,,,, john
Quote: i have the Nikon SB 400 flash,,
would it be safe to try it on the fuji x10
I really don`t know, I`m not familiar with the unit.
If it has a low trigger voltage it should be fine but it can only effectively be used in manual, for fully dedicated ttl your going to be better off with something like this.
Quote: ok, so i just unpacked by box containing a x10, getting excited just looking at it,
so i joined the group and ill read what you are up to when i get home from work
Good to see you here Phil.
ok, so i just unpacked by box containing a x10, getting excited just looking at it,
so i joined the group and ill read what you are up to when i get home from work.
seriously though, the camera looks and feels beautiful. looks as if it will be a joy to carry and use on days out, instead of the old D300s workhorse.
all seems very quiet on here lately
perhaps everyone is busy with the xmas chores,
just thought i,d like to say how hard i find the instruction book to understand on the x10
even the symbols i cannot see, so tiny , even with a magnifying glass
but. a bit of luck...
on www.sqidoo a great review it has the fuji x10 instruction manual, & as i have a 40 inch monitor with my Mac-Mini,
i can see everything quite clearly, ,,,,
well worth a look
i will be taking shots of my grandchildren at the school play on tues,,, would i love to be trying out the new fuji 26x optical zoom,
but then,, one cannot have everything, ah well,,, dream on john
i have the Nikon SB 400 flash,,
would it be safe to try it on the fuji x10
or even be any advantage, over the flash on the fuji,, or should it be a dedicated fuji flash gun
I love X10 but I do not think I will be staying in this group long, I hate those blinking adds that cannot be turned off.
Best from a.
probably just sharpened.
Lovely image Dougie, is that straight out of the X10?
The sky and the water are perfectly saturated and if it is straight from the X10, I am quite impressed.
Picture is under photos now.
Had the x10 for a couple of weeks already, it's very simple to use once you decide what you want to do with it in the way of set up. The jpegs straight out of the camera seem pretty good, you have to watch you keep the files to a decent size and try not to crop is you can help it.
I find it so light and small after the 1Ds Canon, I've put a RRS l bracket from my G10 on it to give me more to hold onto. It looks ridiculous on my tripod but I'll do some tripod images soon, I shot an image which I would post here if I can find out how to do that???
Yup Paul was to blame for my impulse buy of the X10 too !
Joined the group as have read loads and loads of brill stuff about the X10.
My lovely darling Mrs has bought me the camera for Christmas so cannot wait to use it Arrrrrgggggghhhhh
Paul Morgan has also sort of inspired this purchase
Looking forward to sharing my experiences.
I got mine from Wex on Tuesday and have been using it since, mostly for illustration pics for work reports, however, as a Canon G10 user I am mightily impressed (daughter now inherits redundant G10). I was taking some shots this morning (Cold) and the camera just stopped working, no sign of life, after removing the battery and replacing it all was fine. Anyone else had this experience? The other thing I have noticed so far is that it doesn't cope well with sky/ground exposure balancing well in any auto mode, usually have to dial in some exposure compensation (easy on this camera) to cope with large EV range shots. As for quality, I compare to Olympus E410, Nikon D2X and Nikon D3 which are my "serious cameras" as well as I have said my now redundant Canon G10 and I am happy to have spent my money. That said, don't think it can replace any DSLR or you will be dissapointed, horses for coursed and this is (IMO) the best horse for it's particular course.
The owner`s manual is just like any other, there not that great.
Just ordered my FX10 from Amazon and it's shipped. Are there any good tutorials or guides to the camera? I hear the owner's manual is not very good.
Quote: Should be good this, a dedicated place for us to share experiences with this little beauty
Yes everything Fuji X10, tips, advice, settings, experiences.
Any of you out there reading this who are not yet members of Ephotozine, join up and lets see if we can make this the largest user group on the web
This promises to be a really good group.
For those of you new to groups. It's a dedicated place with this comment section to add general notes that you don't want to appear in the forum, but also a dedicated forum where you can start threads on any aspect of the camera or link to other interesting stuff around the web (pictures / reviews/ news). To ensure a good response the forums posts appear in the general epz forum.
The photo section doesn't take away your daily upload allowance in the main gallery so you can post away to your hearts content...keep it relevant to the camera though.
You can arrange meets or competitions and stick them on the calendar, along with any other relevant dates.
Feel free to invite anyone else you know with an X10 and keep active to make it work well.
Hope that helps a little.
Should be good this, a dedicated place for us to share experiences with this little beauty. Hopefully the grey blanket that someone threw over the North West will be lifted tomorrow and I can get out and play.
