Having studied Malc's Megalist of topics and in view of the recent record high temperatures, I've decided to go with the topic "Signs of Spring" I've included "signs" as I'm aware that different parts of the country (and other countries!) will have reached different stages of Spring, so even a bud or 2 will be good.

The rules:
1. The challenge is just for fun.
2. All images must be taken after the theme is announced.
3. All images must be uploaded by 8pm (UK time) on Wednesday
4. All uploads must be B&W (or sepia toned)
5. Only one upload per member
6. The person who hosts is the judge for that week challenge and the judge’s decision is final
7. The winner gets to create, run and judge the challenge for the following week
8. Have fun
9. Get out and about with a spring in your step!

Good luck.

Today (Saturday) might be a good day to look for a photo, since Storm Freya's coming tomorrow and may be pretty destructive. Smile

Nice cleaner gutters Malc, or were they done for picture.....
A wet trip out into the garden (typical English spring weather) secured the subject for this week's entry.
It was between two but this one won the debate in the end.

Decided to have a play around with vignettes this week. And layers too, to create a border - just for a change! Smile

Just a quick bump to remind folks that you still have all day today plus the daylight hours tomorrow, so time to get snapping! Grin

Just reviewing the other entries and Mrs D just ask if they have to be B&W - a bit of colour would be nice....

I could post a colour version as a variant but injecting hue of any sort might get me banned!! Grin

Not necessarily...isn't sepia an accepted hue? Not that I suspect that's what Mrs D had in mind. But still...

Yes, Sepia is fine. I was assuming Mrs D was referring to all the greens, yellows and other colours associated with spring.

I managed to escape lightly the time I accidentally added colour to the group!! Wink

Yes, we don't want any of that colour porn in this group, thank you very much! Fifty shades of grey, ranging from black to white is sufficient (plus a drop of sepia, of course).GrinGrin

When was that, pray tell? I feel like a trawl through the archives to witness your faux pas is the perfect accompaniment to my mid week glass of wine! 😉

It was quite a while ago and I cant remember the theme but I was on holiday and took a selfie of myself sitting on the steps of a caravan we were staying in.

I wanted the sky to look darker than it was but altering the luminance of the blue colour also made our car darker too. The solution was to make a selection and do two B&W conversions one for each part of the image with the same settings but darkening the blue for the sky. I had feathered the selection as well but absent mindedly or through tiredness, when selecting the lower part of the image I feathered the selection a second time. It only needed feathering once and this created a halo of green where all the trees were.

I checked the thread later and Malc had kindly pointed out my error. Smile
