Here is your challenge for the week - Down My Street. I’m going to be travelling a lot over the next month and there is nothing that makes you think of home as much as the thought of travelling. So this weeks challenge is a homely one. Whether it’s a fine detail or a great panorama, what’s “down your street”?

The rules:
1. The challenge is just for fun.
2. All images must be taken after the theme is announced.
3. All images must be uploaded by 8pm (UK time) on Wednesday
4. All uploads must be B&W (or sepia toned)
5. Only one upload per member
6. The person who hosts is the judge for that week challenge and the judge’s decision is final
7. The winner gets to create, run and judge the challenge for the following week
8. Have fun

Good luck!

We've actually grown a new street behind us over the past 5 years.
At last the builders are doing the last house and we should have an end to the dust noise and rather interesting language by the start of spring.
I do miss the open fields and bats that used to fly around in the evening.

You had a cricket pitch behind you?

Also yes, Seaton Cricket Club joined on to the fields behind us - affording a magnificent view of Hartlepool Nuclear Power Station.
Very handy as they could pull a control rod when Sue had every electrical appliance running.....

During the summer months while sat in garden enjoying a glass of grape juice, I could often find myself sat alone as Sue retreated into house when the Bats started zipping around feed on the flies and such.

Well that's my entry in for the week.
As I'm also travelling this week, I'm at a distinct disadvantage Wink. Sadly, I am unable to submit a picture of my street at home. So I've just had to make do with the view from the holiday cottage we've rented for the week. I do hope that's within the rules, under the circumstances.
It's a crying shame but sometimes that's just the way life rocks!!!

I did a selfie on holiday a while ago for the B&W challenge...... and even got some colour in the edited version until Malc kindly pointed out my error. Grin

I have taken a few images today. I shall upload tomorrow afternoon in case something else inspires me in the meantime. Smile

Well, I plucked up courage and went out after night had fallen. Still lots of ice and snow here, and as our street is a cul-de-sac, there's not much traffic, especially at night, so took my pocket-size tripod with me and found a frozen puddle a couple of hundred metres from my home.

We've had two days of a light covering of snow this year - and I was in bed with Flu.
So so far this winter I've not encountered snow or ice,

Well, I wasn't too happy with yesterday's effort so had another go today.

It's a view of the river Stor which runs through and parallel to our road in parts. You can see houses in our road middle left of the image.

Thank you all for entering. Have to admit I was worried on Monday. But some of you live in really nice streets. I had to look through them all a few times. But the winner is .......... drum roll .......... philstan. I love the light.

Congratulations philstan.
