The oak and the villa were both planted in 1888 by two German brothers who had a jewelry shop in Otaki. The present owner bought it recently to save both from the clutches of "developers." That is a euphemism for words which you would not allow me to use, I fear. But you probably know what I mean anyway?
The house isn't really leaning backwards. I just had to use a very wide angle to get most of the oak in the frame.
