I've been fortunate enough to photograph some of the Belafast murals recently. The Council are planning to whitewash them all as they remind people of the troubled past and they want to forget them and move on to (hopefully) happier and less troubled times. Are they trying to erase History by doing that, it's like demolishing Auschwitz or Birkenau? An interesting subject. I love them, they are works of art that send out a powerful message (even if you don't necessarily agree with that message!)

It's the contrast between the menace and the domesticity - that house could be next door to us, not the rest... I'm glad you've kept this simple, straight, factual.
