...and summer's just around the corner

By NickD
This was taken from a cafe across the road on a wet and windy day at St Leonard's on Sea. This lady was the only person I saw walking along the promenade all the time I was in the cafe. I entered it in photo competition named My UK which I saw advertised in the Metro newspaper which I was reading while on my way to Focus on Imaging this year. Lo and behold it was selected for the South East of England along with 16 other entries from around the UK (from an entry of over 2000). As this type of thing doesn't happen to me very often I was understandably chuffed Grin. The 17 prints are being displayed as part of an exhibition being organised by the World Photography Organisation at Somerset House between 26th April and the 12th May. This is just a small part of a very large exhibition entitled the Sony World Photography Awards.

It could have been Scarborough as well. Will look out for it at the exhibition.

Don't think I will be winning anything. The final voting was by facebook friends voting 'like'. I think I had about 40 odd votes and one of the others had 900 or so.

Thank you guys. And John I most certainly wouldn't have got it if I was outside. I would have been more concerned about keeping the camera dry.
