Hello Jat,

I think you would also agree after seeing the picture and the flash reflections on the pepper and the knife that camera flash can be harsh sometimes, especially the ones that the object is too close and has a shiny surface. If you used separate flash unit a diffuser in front of the flash could have helped. Some units allow you to turn the light to the sides so it doesn't fall directly on the object you are photographing. Flash can be compensated by other light sources, natural, like the sun or artificial like your home's lighting. It is a trouble to shoot impromptu images at the moment you think of them, some parameters like lighting may not be the proper nes. I find useful to keep notes of the pictures I want to shoot so I complete them when I have all the components available simultaneously.

I would had suggested you to wait and shoot it in daytime, with natural light and a black card at the back as background.

Take care of the colours also. Remember that while white and black or yellow and black or silver on black can make nice contrasts, yellow on white can not have the same contrast impact as red and white or green and white.

I think also you should have gone for a wider aperture here, teh background, although unclear is still visible and doesn't help to tell us more about the stoty in front of our eyes. Is it a gas flame that is at the background? Is there a frying pan on the fire? (you would need a smaller aperure to show that). Leave the picture to tell the story you have in your mind.

Aww, helpers are always welcome. That can include a tripod to set the camera to fire with a shutter delay as you hold invisibly the knife cutting the pepper. Yes. I have a title for that: "Ouch"

Take care and explore your creativity,

Thanks Pablo for your helpful comments, it was quick shot, handheld camera with on camera flash ( not very good for creative shots as you mention). I was middle of preparing meal then ''TOG BUG'' bitten me so hard I have to run and get my camera quickly, but I did used black card as back ground. Thank you so much taking your time for Constructive Critique, I appreciate very much.

Jat my salad picture was an imprompyu one also. Sometimes I can't resist the temptation of a picture when I see it. Thank you for the nomination, it helps me wanting to offer my advice to more fellow photographers, we can learn from each other.
