15 November "Cropping Portraits Variants" Episode Five"

By GeorgeRusky
For descriptions’ readers.

Good Saturday Morning

If you ever read epz members' 'about' section' you may notice: most of the masters acknowledge the teaching-learning side of the site.

For me it's an enormous source of mood, emotions and inspiration, first of all.
Almost every morning I find your great comments on my photos that literally make my day.
Together with the post-reading photo comments and my on the way to work mantra: "It's going to be a great day" I happily move towards the end of the day.

A word of warning, though.
As the formula of happiness is:
try to live in a thanks-comment-giving module yourself.
You'll be amazed by the harvest of your blessings!

Have a great Saturday and do not let your weather spoil your week-end mood!

Superb smiles once again. #1 is the best one of the girls. #2 tells more about them

Again-- as to the cropping-- depends upon what you want to feature--- All three crops work at different levels-- one to feature the set up the girls are caring for-- another to feature their great smiles---

Whatever, whichever you use it for, this is a wonderful collection of "smiles"

They look as if they may be sisters.

Looks like Sisters to me George. A lovely pair of smiles here, and a suitable bit of cropping.

It's always the smiles that are the feature of your pictures, George, and I often feel a crop would help focus attention on that. Everybody thinks differently, I suppose. In this particular case, the crop works for me.

Ah yes George, the subject of cropping.....and how much.....a third crop here might have been at the girls middle, which would have made the photo them, and nothing else, (nothing wrong with that, I hasten to add) but in order to place them in some sort of context, my preference is for V3, which shows enough of their location, without distracting too much! Comes down to 'all depends what you want to tell' I suppose, all would have merit!
Rgds, hope your weekend goes well, Jim

Hi George, another very nice shot, twins with great smiles. I like v1 and v3 the best, especially v3 as it shows a little more of the surroundings but not too much to distract from the main subjects.

ps - Thanks for the message, my computer at home is up and running again I'm still installing software, will be back online at home in the next couple of days I hope.

George, until quite recently I was a mamber of a business group whose motto was "Givers gain". It is something with which I emphatically agree. I am blessed by the images I enjoy here, such as this of yours, and the comments I receive, again such as yours.

Thank you for inspirational images and comments,

Yes George - your crop in v1 keeps enough of the setting to put the young ladies in context without distracting from their lovely smiles. Well done sir Wink

Version 1 George , I agree totally with Bruce so I won't repeat his words. The colours in this image are fabulous too. You can take Mikes words and repeat them to yourself from me too.
