Todays image is a 1916 French Niewport 17 Biplane flying at a Shuttleworth Air Show 01-07-18, Old Warden Bedfordshire
A visiting plane from Duxford, Cambridgeshire
It has a 130hp Le Rhone engine
This replica has the American Indian emblem of the La Fayette Escadrile
Squadron, a US unit come forward to fight for France
It was named in honour of the Marquis de La Fayette a French hero of the American revolutionary war

I see you've been back to old warden again taking more fantastic shots.
One from the Duxford collection thought I had not seen that one at Old Warden museum.

Yes Fabio the Indians Head was the emblem of the La Fayette Escadrile squadron, a US unit come forward to fight for France
It was named in honour of the Marquis de La Fayette, a French hero of the American Revolutionary War
