1940s Sitting Room

By Hurstbourne
23 Kirkgate, Thirsk, North Yorkshire is now a museum but was where Mr. J.A. Wight ran a veterinary practice alongside Mr. D V. Sinclar. Alf Wight is the world-famous author of the James Herriot books. This is the sitting room at Skeldale House where Alf and his family would unwind and it has been arranged to look much the same as it was in the 1940s.
