30 mm aircraft cannon shells.

By paulbroad
Maybe not to everyone's taste. At an aircraft photography event last weekend restricted to 50 people. All were shooting the aircraft - I did that but tried to find interesting shots that no one else seemed bothered about.

I did manage, in the high winds, to get my tripod blown over and smash my 18/55 clean off the camera and put a couple of scrapes in the XT-3 body. Camera seems fine, I hope - but lens to go to Fuji. £90 quote. An expensive day, so hope I can sell some to recoup.

Flash hand held and fired by remote RF trigger.

A good percentage of the 'photographers' there could have benefited from a EPhotozine membership in the critique section, I think.

Enjoyed your comments accompanying your solid closeup. On which plane were these mounted?

A SAAB Draken, I think. May be wrong and I should note it really, but stepped swept delta and a 30 mm in each wing root.

Nice capture. You are correct in that many people dont take the time to focus on the odd bits.

Detail shots are definitely worth the taking.
A pity about your gear.
Sounds like you weren't too impressed with some of the other's results.

Saw very few other results. Just watching others suggested a lack of knowledfe in many cases.
