A Beached Engine

By samcom
This photograph was shot at Nash Point, Near Llantwick Major just the other side of Cardiff. It was part of an environmental project i did for my recent AS level qualification. The image was originally captured in RAW on colour, but using some photoshop techniques i was able to transform this image to sepia. The engine had probably been washed up a few days before i shot this image as it was lying deep into some surrounding sand. It could have come from anyware, like Bristol, a stranded shipping vessel in the Seven Estury or even as far away as South America, being brought across on the many currents and ocean patterns. The beach surrounding is part of the National Heritage Coastline and show how badly its preserved and goes to show just how much it could be improved.

I know the place well. I like the toning and the sharp details to this.

I like this detail shot. Any idea what sort of engine3 it is? If it's a marine engine, you have to ask where the rest of the boat is, could be quite a story!
Cracking shot of something in the wrong setting!
