A lilac-breasted roller watches the camera from a diagonal branch under a blue sky, turning its head. It has a blue and turquoise tail and wings, a lilac breast and a grey beak. Shot with a Sony a1, a 600mm lens and a 1.4x teleconverter in Chobe National Park in Botswana in October 2022.

There used to be so many of them right through the Rift Valley in Kenya. Not so much now.
