A bit more feminine!

By cattyal
Perusing my shelves earlier (see Blog ) I thought I'd remove something a bit girly tonight. These items don't get used too often as I can never seem to come up with an arrangement that I like but this didn't come out too badly.

I might get the black 'velvet' out for future still life pics to see if that works better than the current fabric - as per usual I'm undecided.

I fiddled about with a bit but don't think I needed to have bothered Smile

I like the arrangement in general here, but although the comb is probably ivory topped by silver, it makes me think of plastic and Poundland. I think it would be better without it. ( Now its not often i feel confident enough to suggest something to YOU of all people ! Wink )...Peter

Love it, I like V1 best. Great idea, I might have a bash at something similar. I have a set "Similar" to this and I have to disagree with the above, its definately NOT poundland!
Great still lifeGrin

A lovely elegant arrangement, but Alison, where did you get that comb from? It's awful! Grin Are you testing us?
But I do apologise if you really like it. You probably do so I'll feel awful now. Blush

Right - looks like the comb will be relegated to the prop shelf Smile

Actually it belonged to a long-gone aged relative - I've no idea how long she had it but it's certainly not from Poundland Smile

Not to my taste really but as it went with the mirror I figured I'd use them together!

I admire your braveness Peter - revenge will be swift and unexpected (better keep watching over your shoulder!) Smile

Good group of feminine objects - I'm thinking one flower instead of two????

V1 for me too. Shame about the comb. Maybe if it was 'somewhere else' in the set up it might work rather than the current centre stage....

like the slightly wamer tones of V1 - the comb? send it to `Flog It'? WinkGrinGrinGrinBlush

I like the slightly darker version in V2. This is a beautifully romantic setting which strikes just the right feminine note. I think you should keep the comb in, perhaps try turning it around or relocating it so it doesn't take center stage. It is a gorgeous set and should be kept together as such. It is definitely not plastic, cheap or any other negative thing.

A late thank you again everyone and thank you Pete for the HC Smile

I've yet to experiment again - I've been trying to choose pics for a show next month - a job I absolutely hate but think I've got that sorted.

Maybe I can play again tomorrow!
