A Bug

By JackieB
This bug was taken on Aperture Priority which was set at f8. It was a windy day and everything I took was blurry

Black & Yellow spotted longhorn Beetl, maybe until someone comes up with a better suggestion. Great shot.

Cropped to move the bug from the centre and place its head (more or less) on the intersection of two thirds.
Sharpened a bit, I think the white thing to the left has stolen your point of focus. That may be related to how you were focusing and I'm not sure if the macro converter may not be helping either.
Also clicked on "auto colour" which has reduced the greenness of the image and I've added a little contrast.
And that's it!
Hope that's OK.

I think you have done very well here, Jackie. Windy days are a nightmare when trying macros like this. I like the fact that you have captured the beetle facing you, and it looks like there were few alternative angles because of the configuration of the plant it is resting on. It's a pity that the antennae are out of focus. I agree with Jester about your composition and think he has chosen a good crop. I might have blurred the white flower to the left because it doesn't need to be sharp.
