A button

Just a simple pic I took by chance when I was messing about.

Very small depth of field was used to try to get only a portion of the button sharp, mainly because I wanted to keep some of the material around it soft, and soften the shadows to some extent.

The shadows are extremely harsh and would definitely have benefited from a reflector - even a piece of cardboard covered with tin foil works brilliantly as a reflector.

The actual subject matter is plain boring to be honest. It's not macro enough to be interesting and the lighting is not very different to everyday lighting. Try to experiment with different lights, different angles, use of reflectors, etc.
