Hope you donít mind me commenting, but three things stand out to me, and I'm not an expert on militaria you understand.

I'm impressed with the scruffy uniform and the fact that the officers face looks a bit dirty, giving a sense that this is real. A super touch which adds immensely to the image.
The title and phone call give a reason for the officer looking out to the side of the frame, so that works for me too.

Just shame about the tea cup which looks out of place somehow - even if it might be authentic period cup - it's white and drags the eye away from the main subject. Perhaps find a way to tone it down?

Have you considered this as a monochrome? - nostalgia looks good in mono.

Overall a very pleasing image and one to be proud of. Well done.

Eddie

Very fine photo Dave!
I also think it could be great to se it in monochrom (sepia).
It would have given it a older look.
But a good job!

The cup did catch my eye too, perhaps an enamelled one would look better. Worth carrying one around in the camera bag Smile

Mono would work well, but iot's nice to see colour.
How about faded/muted colour as if it were taken on early Agfacolor film?

Many thanks for your comments will try a mono conversion and muted colour, Dave.
