A Clipper Butterfly (Parthenos sylvia) (best viewed large)

Indigenous to southern Asia and Southeast Asia.
Clippers can be found in blue, green, brown and gold.
Each of these colors is considered to be a different sub species.
The white markings on the wings remains consistent throughout all species, though.
There are thought to be 26 sub species in existence.
Their avg. wingspan is 3 - 4.2".
They are found in rain forests near rivers at altitudes to 300m.
Being from the Brush Footed family of butterflies, they use their 2 front legs for tasting food, and their 2 pairs of rear legs for propulsion.
They feed almost exclusively on plant nectar.
