Montage of a great selection of shots. Good enough for their guide book I would have thought.

a lovely montage Scott, it's years since I've been to an aquarium, another thing to put on my 'to do' list,
Chris.

I always liked the aquariums, although they produce two very different sensations in my.

By a side love it, it seems to me a place that transmits much calm and peace. The light of the fishtanks, to see swim the fishes, the colours, silence, the sound of the water… I think that one of relaxing moment of my life was enjoying in front of a fishtank full of jellyfishes. That fluorescent colour, floating in the water, dancing slowly… simply precious.

But on the other hand it gives pain me the fact to depraived freedom to all those gorgeous animals. Then I think that if not outside by the aquariums and the people whom the sea studies, there would be many wonderful things which we could not enjoy.

Beautiful composition and fantastic presentation. Love the Beluga's image, seems to me a georgeus and magic animal.

P.D.: i hope that you understand than i can i say... Smile i must study english ^^

I understand perfectly Noe and I totally agree with what your saying, There are good things about Aquariums and bad things and Aquariums.

The Beluga whales are at this particular Aquarium because they are close to extinction and the staff are trying a new breeding program, so they can eventually release them back into the ocean. But I'm not sure if I agree with the staff and trainers teaching the whales to perform, to me it feels like a they are performing in a circus. So not sure about that.

I'm not sure about all the other sea life in this particular Aquarium and if those creatures are there for any specific reason, but to make money.

I should find out probably.

Thanks

A great shot for a canvas! Agree with your ambivalence about making animals perform. Saw the elephants in Singapore Zoo doing their routines - the zoo made sure the elephants looked like the smart ones and the people getting hosed looked like the stupid ones - they said it was good for the animals to keep them from getting bored and depressed. Have you seen cuttlefish (not in a budgie's cage) - they are stunning and so graceful and elegant.

Thanks Mark and Rose, I see your point Rose about keeping the animals active whilst they are in captivity, but then again you start thinking about why are they in captivity in the first place. It's certainly a strange one but because I don't know an awful lot about animals in captivity, I should maybe not say anything in case I'm completely wrong. Thanks again though.
