A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A POLITICIAN

By Tish1
Thank you all so much for your wonderful response to my previous upload 'The Lost and The Lonely' with additional thanks to Mark[tc] and Sangram [Spkr51] for their very appreciated User Awards.

My previous upload was taken while photographing members of The Sheffield Green Party; from which I was asked to do some publicity shots of Natalie Benett, former leader of the Green Party and current candidate for Sheffield Central; obviously I thrilled at the commission.

However, I have never under taken such a task previously and as such would very much appreciate you honest critique on the sample of shots I have uploaded here. Some are crops of larger images; some were taken in my little studio and some were taken while Natalie was out and about.

I enjoyed the experience and, surprise surprise, would like to do it again, but, I need your help in order to perfect my craft

Tish

Can't advise but I would think they'd be pleased with this.

I like v2 very much, shows the subject at work and gives an idea of a smart business woman (I had no idea who she was before seeing this) and the green background represents her party title perfectly

All the plain green b/g work, with literature it is distracting although a full poster with Natalie in front would have impact too. Love the inter action images, proper connection with her public 9/10/ 11/14 the best. Hope you find this useful, you certainly have grasped the idea SmileSmileSmileSmile Tish.

V2 is the best of the lot, with the missing fingers added. The pose is engaging, relaxed, comfortable, the eyes are really smiling. The shoulders of her jacket dont have that awful puffed up look.
A jacket without that dense pattern which produces moire would be easier on the eyes.

Are the whites of her eyes actually reddish? I removed excess red in the mods, though they could be red from laughing at Corbyn.

I would think that green is a real challenge, it looks like a chroma green for film shots.I selected it and mage is less garish.

Underexposed I think, and her eyes a tad dark.

Mod uploaded.

Did you use a lighting setup with these?

You must be pleased with these shots, Tish - a collection that I have enjoyed perusing.

The 'interaction' images strike a chord with me - granddaughter Erin - non-posed captures are so much more interesting and help the viewer's understanding of the subjects.

A great set.

Hope you are well.

I think you have a great set of pictures. The only thing is as a politician they want to look at their best, so a little time needs to be spent on post processing. Close up pictures need that care to make the people look good without going too far. The new liquify tool in photoshop is just wonderful for this.

The mod I hope shows what I mean with a before and after.

They are very good portraits of her. Nice to see the before and after mods. They are all good I would let her choose which one she likes best. Debs
