After sitting back and admiring both the monochromatic version and this quite remarkable colour photograph. I must say I am rather drawn towards the colour. The colour itself certainly enhances the rather port faced complexion, and the wispy silver hair brilliantly. Certainly a piece to be extremely proud of.

Thankyou folks, much appreciated.
It was pointed out (rightfully so) that in the mono, he was a little lost in the backround, so Iv'e burnt & burnt the background as much as possible to bring him to the fore a little.

I send my favourite takes to my dad by email.......he liked the mono with the colour pop, but really wasn;t keen on this version..which I rather like...so I put it on here with a little trepidation.............so thankyou Smile

Well Gareth what can I say! well for a start I think by doing this you have made the right choice! as he stands out nicely from the background which you have reduce very nicely with a slight blue tint, and the colours help him to come right forward so it's just what you wanted to do, well done like it, regards Leon.GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

What an amazing character shotp- kind of him to have an liking for the odd drink and such photogenic grey hair! The ruddy complexion and the hair really set it off along with the colour in the hat and the DoF. I usualy prefer B+W portraits but this one really works well in colour. Steve
