A Grand View

By TrevBatWCC
A bit brain-dead on titles again! Walking a few metres up the slope from Rothorn Kulm, this is the splendid view from the restaurant, and gives a broader view of Lake Brienz. The lake stretches all the way to Interlaken, just about in the centre of the image. Beyond Interlaken can just be seen part of Lake Thun. Quite a bit of cloud had gathered in this direction, but I liked the shafts of sunlight coming down onto the mountainside through the clouds Smile

Just the view I had been anticipating, Trev: expansive spread of the Bernese mountain and lake scene from this superb viewpoint.
I like how the warm colours of the fore and middle grounds sit against the cooler tones of the misty distance.
Just so much to take in, and once again it brings back so many happy memories for me from 1967 when the family holidayed in Interlaken, and yet sad ones too as my parents are no longer with us.
Thanks so much for sharing it with us.

It is the shafts of light that make this already splendid vista even better, Trev. Magnificent view and as my mum would say "you're up a depth there"

So wonderful to see Trev and yes it makes me sad. I have that damned Cuckoo clock I bought in Venge. Have to turn it off some days SmileSmile. That ride was stupendous. Wish I could do it again xx
