A Grey Hunter

By sherlob
Not had much time on site of late. Hopefully this should be recopied soon.

Taken yesterday - I can't begin to say how long I've been after a half decent image of a heron. I know in some places they are accustomed to humans, but here these birds are skittish and seem to feel threatened by the presence of humans (especially those pointing a camera). Overall, I am pleased with this - it certainly constitutes my best attempt so far. However, it needed a tad of careful editing to lose a reed.

Enjoy your week.

Really nice shot Adam, and it show the environment well too.
It does look as though it's crossing its legs though Grin

This heron does look extra good. Something about the wonderful warm light means so much here. A real Winner! TG

Excellent isolation form the bg, Adam, and a fine pose next to the reeds, which add to the image by adding context in the form of its natural habitat.
