a life once lived

By PaulMillar
Hi all, a bit more awake today. Sorry for a similar image to that of yesterday but this is the image I should have done. I'm a lot happier with this and the sky looks less blown out and over saturated. At 5.30 am yesterday I felt as if the morning was going to be a wash out as the car park at Loch Etive was almost full and I'm not sure what they were doing at the pier on the loch but was lit up like football pitch, no chance of a sunrise there. I rushed back along the road trying to decide what to do so stopped on the road side above lochan Urr. Cup of tea then down the bank, hard walking, and yes my waterproof wet legs had to be still in the house. Perhaps was fate that worked its magic......

Thanks again for the lovely comments...........................

Yes I think the portrait version has more impact and a great sky.
A concentration of mountain, mist ,sky, reflection - good even without the bare tree bark
and did you spot the little red leaf begging to be noticed?
I trust you have had a good sleep and repeat after me "I must not drive when tired".

Excellent view through the trees to the hill beyond. The sky is very nicely brought out with the filters and the atmospheric cloud is the cream...

Like it very much, Paul.

All that early morning activity has paid off with a very fine composition that Dave has analysed so well: and I do like the inclusion of the dead seems to add emphasis to the portrait format.

Well it's a stunner and I like the reflections on the water... Grin
