Antique verge fusee pocket watch from 1775, made in Norfolk during the reign of George 111. Still running and keeps good time.
Remarkable craftsmanship (oh dear is that sexist these days? Perhaps I should have written Craftspersonship?) of the pierced and engraved brasswork. These are built-to-last timepieces.
A very lovely old watch, Dave, and certainly has wonderful 'craftspersonship'!!! 😁 Bet it's worth a good few bob 😃
Trev 😀
Too expensive to keep, Trev, they find new owners very rapidly -a lesson in impermanence🙂
