A Mystery--What Is This

By handlerstudio
My wife and I came out from an afternoon meal at friends' house, and we saw these (what look like) cocoons hanging from a steel fence, as well as from the evergreen next to it, which texturally, it resembles.

One of the images shows an insect of some kind looking out of the top. Then, then, there are several images with what I think are wasps on them.

Anyone have any idea of what this is?

Although not exactly the same as what we have here it does resemble what I have seen before. Here the insects uses mainly small sticks to build something similar. Great images Peter Smile

V5 is an excellent shot, well composed, sharp and interesting.
I have wondered if the yellow insects are predatory wasps.....

Interesting and well taken shots Peter, can't help with the ID I'm afraid, all a bit too exotic for the UK.

The wasps are predators, so we must trust Nature and wait for its self-controlling mechanisms to kick in.
