Have you considered counseling? Oh - you meant the photo! My bad. Tongue

I'd probably lighten the darkest parts to bring out some detail, and maybe drop the overall contrast just a hair to balance it out.
Your mileage may vary.
It's a cool shot in any case - nice catch! Smile

You shutter speed and aperture are ok, you could take the photo at a lower angle so as to eliminate the stand and maybe show some sky especially if a good day, spot metering would then be best to give an accurate exposure, as we do not know the software you are using it's difficult to advise any more, as there is a host of things you could do, I would however advise you to learn to use raw files this will give you much more control of you final image.
Hope some of this will help

I think you've caught the bird brilliantly, with a lovely out of focus background - but post processing would improve it.

I think I would lighten the shadows a little. When asking for advice it is a good idea to tick the 'Allow Modifications' box when uploading, this would allow us to actually show you what we would do (and hopefully write the exact procedure!). Smile
