A Riot of Colour....In Mono!!

By derekhansen
Thought I would have a play around with this old file on photoshop. I really like Infrared images so after a recent AP article I thought I would give it a go. I quite like it.
For those of you who just cant live without colour I have also included the original version. And, just in case you were wondering ,I havn't increased the saturation. The foliage (image was taken in late October 2009) really was that colourful.
Large is best and of course C&C welcome.
Derek

I have been switching between the two and cant make my mind up ...the colours in v2 are stunning and what a mix ..... but the infra red is very eye catching and mesmerising

either way ...fantastic stuff

V 2 is a stunning shot, capturing the rich variety of autumnal colours so well and in a beautifully composed image. However, I'm afraid V 1 does nothing for me in comparison here......sorry, just a personal opinion, but I agree that it is always interesting to attempt different approaches.

No problem Ronnie. It would be a very dull planet if we all liked the same thing.

I don't think IR worked well for this scene Derek, and I prefer the colour version.

By the way how did you do in the Landscape of the Year competition?

Both work well, Derek m8 but when viewed large V2 edges it for me.
BTW. I now realise that I have been subliminally influenced by your use of borders. I'd persuaded myself that I was doing something new and more interesting. Clearly, your images were on my mind Smile

I wondered why your recent uploads look so good Alun!!!!

Seriously, I cant really claim to have invented that border. I probably saw someone else doing something similar and made it mine.
Beat wishes.

Both images are very interesting and top quality. Any chance we could see a straight mono conversion?
