A Royal wash and brush up - 1

During yet another Big Dig in Liverpool (and there isn't much left that hasn't been dug!) the statue of Edward VII that stands on the waterfront has had to be temporarily moved to make way for extending the canal as far as the Pier Head.

After a week or so in dismantled limbo (and amongst huge heaps of soil) His Majesty was last seen on the back of a truck travelling up Lord Street on his way to the Conservation Centre, where he will have a bit of a wash and a brush up because, as you might have noticed, he is a bit of a dirty boy.

LoL what a description last seen on the back of a truck brilliant could only happen in Liverpool.

He looks like he is enjoying the ride :o)

Thanks Ian. It will be quite a while before a scrubbed Edward VII is back down at the Pier Head - they will have to hire him an open-top limo for the journey back!
