A Sad Tale

By JimV
When I realised my own lilies were going nowhere this year - no idea why! - I saw a pot with these lovely ones in it at the garden centre on 18 June, so bought it, brought it home, took these shots before splitting them, replanting in new planters with some other flowers, and set them out in front of the house. When I got up the next morning they were all gone, flowers and buds alike, the deer had got up long before me, though they did leave all the others in the planters. Sad

Many thanks for your C&C's on My Garden, very mch appreciated.

Two superb shots of the lilies, Jim, surely amongst your very best floral ones, if not the best.
But sad to know you had the benefit of these blooms for less than a day.
Will they come up again next year?
Ronnie.

I think we should rename you mellow yellow Jim, you seem to have a propensity for yellow flowers, these are excellent and showing great detail. Sorry the Deers took a fancy to them Jim:

I know nothing of deer and had no idea they went for flowers like these! It just goes to show, even the cutest things can be menaces. I love ladybirds (we don't get many here) but a friend of mine in the States once mentioned how they can be pests. So sorry to hear about your beautiful lilies, Jim Sad

You've captured these so perfectly just in time, though.

A lovely image but the deer can be very naughty. A friend of mine in Scotland will vouch for this.
