A Sky full of Kites

By mommablue
I was having a discussion at work about how I find the Gym really boring and cant understand why anyone would want to spend time on a treadmill when they can just go for a walk, my co-worker said you get a much better work out on the treadmill - I disagreed - walking up the Brecon Beacons was a very sufficient work out and you dont see sights like this in any gym that I know of! Good for the body but also very good for the soul! Taken at the Brecon Beacons, Wales, at a Red Kite feeding station. The Kites are completely wild, the farmer has built a hide for the public and charges 3 per adult to view them being fed. At one point there were up to 50 Kites flying around, it was truly spectacular.
My only regret is not having a good enough lens to capture these magnificent creatures in all there glory.

A great shot... What a magnificent sight.....I agree the outdoors is much better than an indoor gym....I get the best of both worlds, we have an outdoor gym in the park overlooking the sea...on a good day you can see whales or dolphins swimming past...and the seagulls entertain us...

i agree there is nothing like a great walk esp when you see sights like this ,i too witnessed kites flying over my friends home in wales .The local farmer was cutting the grasses for feed and the kites appeared from nowhere to check if there were any pickings ie rabbits etc. This is a record of your day and will stay with you ,so much better than walking on a treadmillSmileSmileSmile
