A splash of orange

By Pete
I was preparing my set for a cutlery shot today...and with the window blinds shut had a narrow shaft of light fall over my rust background.
So I placed a bottle along the shafts. The shaft of light bounced up and reflected on the side of the bottle and added to the already designed lines of orange. I'd like to say it was a calculated placement, but sadly it was just a stroke of luck. I like the effect though. I'm wondering whether it would have been better with the drink still inside as that would have been even more colourful.

A fabulous photo I actually like it as it is but maybe you can set it up with the drink next time and we can compare. Although you may not be so lucky with the shafts of light next time.

maybe the orange drink would have complimented the background Pete !

possibly only partially filled, so there was a definite "break" line

Great mottled texture to the rust and I like the complimentary orange stripes Pete; looks like you got a mountain and a lake behind you!

I suppose thats what they call 'a moment of serrendipity'!!!
However, I like the shaft of light to the right of the bottle and that might also suggest the alternative title of, 'A Slice of Orange'?

I rather like this!
However, I'd crop the black/grey bit of of the bottom and a bit from the top to redress the balance.
Also, the shaft of light on the right has a hard shadow across it where it stops. Something out of shot is preventing the passage of the light.
It wouldn't be difficult to find and remove the culprit, leaving two equal, parallel orange stripes.
I think too, that if you used a full bottle the liquid will be orange in colour and your reflection, which has become the focal point of the image, may be lost.
Just my opinion of course.
