A touch of light on deepening shadows...

Lincolnshire Wolds near Binbrook.

The light was low in the early evening and I took this just before the sun dipped below the hills. In the far distance as the road disappears into the wood, the headlights of a car appeared just as I squeezed the shutter.

The alternative version is in colour. I think the monochrome has the edge.

I totally agree the monochrome images gives this more definition and the tones are superb.

I probably would prefer a bit less foreground.

The less foreground works well with the slope coming up from the bottom left corner.

Mono for sure … Foreground somewhere between the two for me … I quite like the leading lines of the wind rows in your first mono version as well

Mono for me.
Personally I would keep the foreground and lose a bit of sky.
Love the lines in the earth!
