A Touch Windier

By Hop-A-Long
Hi All
Thanks for the votes and comments with regard to my last image,

This is another from South Gare, however this was at a different time when they were building the wind farm at Redcar, this platform is what they used to sink the supports into the seabed for the wind turbines, a mighty strong piece of engineering when you consider the forces being placed upon the structure. Gravity, as the turbines weight bears down on the base. Wind, the stress caused on such a tall structure by the wind must be immense and then the added load as the blades rotate. Waves, the sea is relentless, even when there are no waves the structure is still being battered by strong currents below the surface.
I honestly don't know how they remain standing, perhaps they use a smear of No More Nails on the bottom before setting it in place. Maybe there are guide ropes holding them up, or perhaps they actually hover on a cushion of air. That's it! That's where all the old flymos went, the company has fitted several of them to the bottom of the turbine and it actually floats above the sea, they power them with the turbine. Hang on, that may not work, I mean if you powered them from the turbine then you wouldn't get alot of energy to store, they have a massive extension lead that they plug into the socket at the cafe on the seafront, a couple of double adapters should do the trick.
I know all there secrets, you want to know anything just ask, I'll keep you right.

Thanks for looking and for any comments or votes you wish to leave me.

One can surmise how difficult the task is, a miraculous job, indeed.

Nah, it's a lot easier, they asked the women in. We can fix anything with a kitchen knife and the heel of a shoe.
