A Trip not taken #15

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This is the Musee Cultural de Mount Carmel in The County. Much of Northern Maine is French Canadian. And not just Northern Maine. I went to college (Bates) in Lewiston Maine, sort of south/central. And it is heavily French Canadian....and many of the people there can and do not speak English. It has become more varied in recent years with a Somali immigration.

The two cupolas remind me of some of the churches in Montreal Peter ...Be some Fleur de Lis flying around there I am sure ...... and some Acadian surely spoken . What stellar light you captured ..the air looks nice up that way !! Your photo reminded me of a song by one of my favourite American bands .
If you don't mind bluegrass the Old Crow Medicine show band has a fun song about an American fellow wandering across the border and taken in by a friendly Quebecois Mademoiselle. Song is called Black haired - Quebecois.

As so often, I come through your text wiser and more informed. The value of reading beyond tweet-length.

I'm enjoying Walt's recommendation on my Sonos as I type...

This is a beautiful and well preserved building. It is very much like churches in Quebec, the proud heritage of the French Canadian is rich in many ways. Have you ever had pork pie better known as Tourtière?
