A Trip not taken #23

By handlerstudio

This is a set that takes some imagination and filling in the blanks of negative space in air to see...and harder in photos than in person. The sculpture is a full size representation of the "bones" of the coastal schooner Wyoming. It will take looking at all the versions to get a sense of its (referring to the sculpture...never a boat or ship as "it". Her, yes.) presence.

A short session on my computer tonight. The last night of the Democratic National "Convention", such as it is, starts in 15 minutes...down to the television to watch it.....and see how Biden does in the biggest speech of his life. Four years ago, it was in Philadelphia...and with Hilary the very flawed candidate....Joe gave a raucous, rousing speech....and I am sure I was not the only one feeling, at that point....If Only.....but he was still mourning the death of his son Beau...and then not ready to run. He would have wiped the floor with Trump. Hilary was the only one he could defeat. Last night, President Obama made a scathing speech about The Tyrant (my words, not his. He used his name). By tradition, former presidents do not criticize their successors....That part of Obama's speech was perhaps the most negative speech, for someone who is not, I have ever seen him give. And, of course, he was eloquent.

Re: Monarch caterpillars--- I have seen only one, but there are several butterflies being very busy and a field rich with milkweed---that I will not walk in due to too many ticks, wasps, etc. Likely there are many caterpillars at work!

Something I think you have to be there to see. To get an understanding of it.

Not easy to get the feel Peter, but you did well. What an awesome vessel she would have been.

Up with Obama The Eloquent Peter....John

The sculpture doesn't do the ship justice for me, in fact it almost seems a mockery of it.
You have photographed it as well as possible.
