A Trip not taken #26

By handlerstudio

When the Pythons first made it to these shores...there were jokes that for a while we Americans just did not get.....but the general theme....that they brought out in sketches....was someone, it must have been John Cleese, would say....."this is entirely too silly..." Had to be John Cleese...he was the only one who would never break cover and always keep a straight face....even when Michael Palin cracked up laughing in front of the Queen in the middle of the Dead Parrot....

Anyway....I think my lobsters were getting entirely too silly....this is, after all, a serious subject....big bugs, food.

Photos from a few earlier trips, staying with our friends David, Jo and Renee on Mt. Desert Island....and we would make lobster feasts....not the traditional way of boiling them...but grilling them. You need to take the love lobster and slice its head down the middle with a knife, butterfly them, take out the totally and mix it with olive oil, to later marinate back on on the grill. Best lobster I have ever had...grilled lobster. So, a few photos from a few different summers....and we can all think about how good they taste....and maybe Joline might have some up her way.

And, thanks to Isabel for her UA for my silly lobster....

I will not be watching the RNC this week.

Very serious indeed for the lobsters!

A dish I'm not well acquainted with: maybe once in my life...

Mouth-wateringly good, Peter. Fond memories of when we had a home on Cape Cod and used to drive to Maine. Best lobsters in the world (though our Cornish lobsters are pretty good too), however prepared. Great images and write-up - thank you for making me smile Smile
P.S. RNC - Ewwwwww, NO!! Wink

That is pretty good too, Joline. When I was in college at Bates. we had Outing Club clam bakes and lobster at Popham Beach.....which as a beach park was never my favorite. That is Reid State Park.

Just love the look on the ladyís face in V10 ....could go either way...a look of anticipation. ..or of horror ...
I think the former most likely .
Speaking of a horror show ...that pretty well sums up the RNC that just took place , and the tyrants comments today about the situation in Wisconsin.
Great photo of the red lobster on the coals my friend . Didnít they name a restaurant chain after those red bugs from the sea ??
Best regards
