A Trip not taken #27

By handlerstudio
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

A brief return, out of sequence, to the Maine Maritime Museum...Their old machine shop, run on a jackshaft. This set is for the gear heads among us (of which I will confess to being one). The other image is of a triphammer....in an iron forge.

I would like to thank Isabel for her wish to have been at that grilled lobster dinner, and her UA.

Peter

I don't think I'm a gear head because I haven't a clue how to operate any of these. But the images are sharp and the gear heads will find them very interesting.

No safety guards on those machines back in the day ....survival of the fittest ruled in those shops .
I think it was the great songwriter John Prine that wrote a song with the line about farm machinery eating peoples arms and legs ....great tones and light in V1 ..Peter ,
Best regards
Walt
