For critique, it would be really useful to have the unprocessed original as well as your final version, Karen, plus some detail on what you did and why.
Technical quality seems OK, especially as you were using an early digital camera: six megapixels, I think, like my Minolta Dynax 7D?
Aesthetically, there's a lot going on in there, and it's the sort of picture in which you can't bear to sacrifice any of the lovely details, especially as they're following the rule of thirds.
I hope you 'worked the scene' and took a variety of images at different focal lengths - cropping a 6mp file can hurt quality, and I suspect that I'd like some sort of closer view. A mod is coming shortly...

Could you add the original jpeg as a modification please? Just click on the blue Modifications button and follow the instructions. I assume that you processed this in Nik Color Efex? Can you tell us what effect, what mood you were aiming for?
It's a very attractive scene, my feeling is that the interest is mainly in the lower right section of the frame, with that jagged shoreline and the little tower. Emptiness, isolation is a difficult mood to convey. I would prefer not to use such a wide angle, because it creates so much empty space in the middle of the frame, and it pushes the distant shore that much further away.
I've added a tighter crop, using your aspect ratio, as a modification, I think it actually conveys the emptiness more effectively because the composition has a structure. It partially recreates the effect of using a longer focal length. It's a fairly radical crop, so the result is rather soft. I'd prefer to work from the original.

The thing is do you want to make more impact with the shot, under which case the light within the clouds become far more important.
So to offer the other side of a mod I have not cropped the image. I then added a yellow/red orange diamond gradient right on the light source and reduced to 20%. This lights up the sea and that light within the clouds. I then sharpened the image, as John said the waves look a little better for it. Last I pushed the colours and slightly adjusted the tone.
I know this amount of adjustment is to everyone's taste but in a world of billions of images, impact images are becoming more the normal...

Hi thanks guys have not sorry had not had chance to download original file from hard drive . But like what you have done . I especially liked Roberts one it does give it impact nearly did it similar when doing it but toned it down .my camera was a d70 it was my first digital camera and was still Lerning . The original had a very dark shoreline bit I liked the sky .Thank you
