I would be more than happy with either version of this attractive composition, though being me I find the blue corrugated metals a slight detraction. But the tones are very subdued, so the balance is 51:49, or negligeable!

I like the browns and reds of the arch but I think you have given a touch of saturation to the image giving a very slight bluish tinge to the house stonework (or my monitor is on the blink again!!). So I am going for the version.

Both excellent Sue...Lin

Nice one, Sue – interesting subject.
I tried a mod:

Square crop, mono conversion, and I toned down the bright sunlight in the archway, just a little, to give what I think is a better tonal balance.
Just a slightly different way of looking at it.

I prefer the colour lead image which shows the intricate brickwork on the face of the tunnel to the right. The blue on the corrugated iron and in the upstairs window seems too much of a contrast to the rest of the image. My modification is a change of colour which is perhaps more in keeping with the colour in the tunnel. That mod was done quickly and crudely on my tablet which only has a simple editing app to show how it might blend into the image better. The colour I picked is a little too bright but the app cannot do any more.
Having said all that I really like the scene and am happy to give my award. Well spotted and taken.

Thank you all for your votes, comments and awards. I hadn't noticed that the shot was overly blue, but now you've mentioned it I've no idea how it didn't leap out at me Blush. Some good lessons learnt so thank you!

The contrasting brick colours are very lovely but the mono is probaby the one I would go for.

I think I'd have looked to see if I could take two steps back and include all of the shadow at the bottom right...

A slight preference for colour, for me.

Thanks John! I did crop a bit so will go back and have another look.
