There's a simplicity, almost a starkness about this that I like.
I prefer V1 for it's fullness but prefer V2 for it's straightness so I suppose my ideal would be somewhere between the two!
Either way, it's a great shot Peter.
Jester.

Beautiful image. Saw this engine in Queen Street station in Glasgow, many many years ago. Lovely to think it's still going.

Ah, SNG gets chance to stretch his legs on the mainline! V1 is an excellent capture of the event. Great work.
V2 is cropped a little too tight for me - but that's just me.

Two great shots of a gleaming Sir Nigel Gresley Peter, well done! Probably it was late due to trackwork, that was always the reason Smile

Peter - just catching up with some of your recent train uploads - this is when you really come into your own all are first class. I love V1 here the angle adds a sense of movement and tension perhaps - the context is fantastic too (all the smoke is just excellent),

Cheers

Two great shots of this fantastic historic engine, the Sir Nigel Gresley, brings back to me a huge amount of great memories of my childhood, on Doncaster sideings watching the trains go by with my mates.

nice shot peter
the reason sng was late into Lincoln was some guy was going to jump of a bridge, nr london in front of the loco and kill himself so the loco was held up while he was got off the bridge
cheers andy

Two superb images. V1 has the edge for me because of its angle you can imagine the loco moving at speed.
