Ladybower and the surrounding areas is a fantastic place in the Autumn. I went up to Abbey Bank to try and capture a shot overlooking Howden Reservoir with surrounding Autumn colours...On the way up the weather and light was changeable to say the least and while ascending the steep slopes of Abbey Bank I was treated to this spectacle of strong winter light and a large splashing of rain (which you can see in the photo)...Rather than carrying on, I knew I had to stop and took an opportunistic shot handheld and prayed it would work out, which I'm glad it did...I've cropped the picture into a panoramic format which I don't usually do but I felt it worked nice in this case to reduce the exccess bracken and sky and focussing on them lovely Autumn Larches with the light filtering through.
