Abbey Bank is a lovely small but lung busting hill above Derwent Reservoir and offers fine views to Howden Reservoir and its dam. It's a classic scene in Autumn but one I had failed to capture so far...With a lack of rain recently I knew it was a risk going up and having the dam in overflow which would have been ideal but I also knew Autumn wouldn't be lasting much longer...True to my suspicion the dam wasn't in overflow but I was more than rewarded for my efforts with fantastic dramatic clouds and a lovely rainbow which had my opting for the wider view to capture this glorious scene...I returned to my car more than happy with the day's efforts and was glad to have got out.
