Abbey Park

By TrevBatWCC
Heading further westward along Torquay's seafront away from the town centre brings you to Abbey Park, which has a miniature golf course, crazy golf, tennis courts, bowling greens and a museum. At the bottom corner is this beautiful garden area with its water feature. The park's well worth the visit if you're in Torquay, being just 1km from the Pavilion and a good ten minute's walk.

Many thanks to Arne (Saastad) for his User Award on my previous upload, Princess Gardens , and also to Rob (RLF) for his Award on my earlier upload, Happy Yorkshire Day! , most appreciated 🏆👍

Raw images processed in Adobe Camera Raw, tweaked in Nik Collection's Viveza 2 and Photoshop Elements 14.

Thanks again to everyone for your vote & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging 👍

Love the use of foreground interest, very clever - particularly in the middle shot. Really makes me feel that I'm there.

Truly good compositions, Trev, and I agree with Moira.
I can imagine the pond filled with koi carp...

I also agree with Moira. (Well I'd be a fool not to - I seem to recall her saying something about a chainsaw a little while back and not being afraid to use it. Then there's that sinister tailor's dummy in the Matlock shop window, you know the pointy "j'accuse" one, and the other with the bowler hat, bow tie and Moira looking like Miss Moneypenny. I'm so frightened that I now sleep with a tennis bat beside the bed - it's a protection racket.) However, I am going to be edgy and controversial by opting for the lead as I like that tantalising little wedge of sea and the sense of far horizons. Well worth viewing full screen. (I have to stop myself from saying 'view large' as I fear it takes us into actress and bishop territory. Sorry. BlushBlushBlush)

Beautiful gardens - exotic in many ways - must be a lovely climate down there permanently.

Splendid image. Love the way the reflections on the water leave a silvery lead in to the image in between.
