Abbey Sunset

Whitby Abbey, at sunset - I knew before I went up there that the angles would allow for a sunset behind the abbey, but both Friday and Saturday were no good, as there was heavy cloud cover, and gale-force winds both days. Fortunately, on Sunday the sky cleared, and the wind dropped.

I managed to find the perfect angle to get the sun positioned in an empty window, and, voila...

I'm glad this place doesn't erode with all the photo images taken. Very nice image, thanks for posting.
