Abstact Landscape

By Paintman
Something a little different from me today. I took some photos in Majorca of walls and architectural details and I found it quite a liberating experience.

I tried to find interesting textures and colours and just create compositions that can bring visual associations from the viewers own memories and experiences.

For me this one has qualities of landscapes and seascapes and I hope this can be seen by others.

Even though it's abstact, its source is from reality and shows how a small selection from the whole can transform its meaning.

Well, that's my opinion anyway.

Now to appreciate this you must go large, the contrast in textures and tones are brilliant.

I like the way you explain my "seeing things that aren't there", and yes, there is a landscape.

I really like this type of photo. Inspires the viewer's imagination instead of defining every detail as much photography does.
For myself I prefer when there are no descernable object in the image and so I should be tempted to clone out the rusting "bracket" but I sure do like it as you've presented it.

A wonderfully observed abstract. I think abstracts are liberating in the sense that there is no refence to reality and therefore allows us to bypass our usual response and to respond on a different level, drawing from our emotional selves, our memories and our imagination.
