Adventures In Glass.

By lifesnapper
Hi all and thank you once again for your lovely response and support during my Platinum Jubilee series, very much appreciated.
Dickens Festival images coming soon.

Today, the start of a three part series; Adventures In Glass. Set two: A mirror. Set three: A camera.

All the best to all and have a smashing weekend.

P.S. Yesterday I met a really lovely old lady who was rather lost. She was on her way to a crematorium and had left the M20 motorway too early. She asked me for directions so I gave her the safest way to get back on rout. We had a little chat before moving on and I couldn't help but think; 'what a lovely old lady.' And if she hadn't have driven into the side of my car, I would never have met her...

She definitely spotted you 🤣🤣
I like the lead, with a pair of inverted John Selfies thrown in too.

Hope the car isn't too bad, they repair. I've some of experience in that.
Then you helped, too many today would have taken a different view I suspect.

Playful set of images John

You did well to get her to participate

And you tell a good tale!

Great story about the lovely old lady

Insurance job or did you force the last Ł200 out of her handbag?! Grin

Yeah, I would've accepted a grand in cash, Colin but looking at some previous damage on her car, I gathered she'd probably run out of cash hand outs...Wink

Not too badly damaged, thank you and just waiting to hear from Toyota repair shop, not far from where I live.
I was on my way to get the car mot'd, it failed! Going to cost me Ł495 just to replace two anti roll ball joint dust covers. A couple of pieces of rubber costing around Ł12 each. That means that in my last three visits it's cost me upwards of Ł1,100 . Time to ditch Toyota I think....🤨

Love the idea of setting out a task to the way you shoot. I always find this helps me think about the subject and the problems that need to be overcome. The one I often find myself using is one camera, one lense, or it could be just to carry less.

I have to admit like the others I love the story John. In life there are many ways to look at things and this was one of the best...

And she even flashed a little leg at you...did the little old lady do that too?

Just remember, it's only a piece of metal.

'anti roll ball joint dust covers'...I can fair hear the mechanic whistling through his teeth ..."that's gonna cost yah!" 😂

Sounds a lovely old lady, John. There’s quite a few of that calibre around, I guess we all know one or two. Still, hey, when I went to Paris as a lingo student in the 1960s, the family I stayed with had a 2CV Citroen. The mother’s way of ‘parking’ it in a tight space in town was to go forward till she bumped the car in front, and then reverse till she hit the car behind! OK the little car had solid little rubber ‘bumpers’ but I can’t help thinking this wasn’t what they were designed for…but on reflection ,it’s a French car so perhaps they were 😎
So nice you helped her out, what goes around comes around, hope it does with your car.

Dave 🙂

Great set John. Your poor car! You were a total gent in giving her directions….or did you send her in the opposite direction. 😉

Good luck with the car repairs.

The Little old lady was lucky she bumped into you John. She could still be driving around Rochester looking for a crematorium.
