Afghanistan Commemorative Window

By mac
City of York, Afghanistan Commemorative Window at Church of All Saints:

This stained-glass window beside the church entrance has been created to pay tribute to the thousands of York men & women who served in Afghanistan. It serves as a memorial to Marine David Hart, Lance Bombardier Matthew Hatton and Trooper Ashley David Smith, who all paid the ultimate sacrifice in the cause of peace.
The window was funded by the City of York Afghanistan Commemorative Appeal and raised more than £17,000 thanks to support from thousands from across the city.
One of Britainís top stained-glass artist, Helen Whittaker, from Barley Studios in Dunnington, designed and created the window.

I have never seen a stained-glass window dedicated too this particular conflict so could be unique.

A magnificent tribute, and amazing piece of stained glass artwork. I agree that this is unique, I have never seen one such either.
